Source: Fiehler Genealogy, Rudolph Fiehler, July, 1979: Joseph Fiehler was thirteen when his father died. When he was twenty, in 1886, he had completed the six-year course at Concordia College, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in preparation for the Lutheran ministry. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1889. He was pastor at Colby, Wisconsin (to 1897) at Butternut, Wisconsin (to 1910) and at two rural churches south of Merrill, Wisconsin which have since merged as Faith congregation (to 1920), then at Crosstown, Missouri 1920-1923.
