Note
|
Source: 16 Sep 2000 phone call to Robert Fiehler in Altenburg: Bob's father, Joseph, worked as a carpenter since the home farmstead was already taken over by his brother, John. He was a carpenter in Oklahoma, New Mexico, western Nebraska andthen an auto mechanic in Ames, Iowa. He enlisted in the Navy in WWI. After the war he came back to Altenburg and was an auto mechanic in Altenburg. He opened his own garage, the Altenburg Garage, which his son, Robert, operated, and now his grandson, Gerard, operates. |
