UNIONTOWN WOMAN SUCCUMBS IN CAPE
Mrs. Emma Hemmann, 55 years old, wife of G. B. Hemmann of Uniontown, died of an intestinal obstruction at 7:20 a.m. today (11-28-1939) at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Ill only a short time, she had entered the hospital Sunday.
The body was removed to the Young and Son undertaking establisment at Perryville. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Lutherarn Church at Uniontown. Burial will be in the cemetery there. (by Rev. R. J. I. Mueller)
The former Miss Emma Kanke was born Nov. 6, 1884, and in 1908 was married to G. B. Hemmann of Uniontown. Since their marriage they operated a farm near Uniontown.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Rudy Wichern of Uniontown and Miss Erna Hemmann, who is employed at the J. B. Carpenter home, 1208 Highland Drive; five sons, Rev. Louis Hemmann, Lutheran pastor at Sweet Springs, and Edwin, August, John and Ulysses at home and two sisters, Mrs. Emil Adams of Topeka, Kas., and Mrs. Frieda Zschau of Dwight, Ill. Two sons, Albert and Rudolph, died in infancy.

MRS. G. B. HEMMANN DIES IN HOSPITAL
Mrs. Emma Catharina Louise Hemmann, wife of J. B. Gottfried Hemmann of Uniontown, died at
7:20 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Southeast Missouri hospital in Cape Girardeau, where she was taken Sunday for treatment. She was 55 years old, and death was attributed to an intestinal obstruction.
The body was brought to Young & Sons Funeral Home at Perryville and the funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon from the family home to Grace Lutheran church and cemetery at Uniontown. Services will be conducted by the pastor, the Rev. R. J. I. Mueller.
Mrs. Hemmann was born Nov. 6, 1884 at Mt. Olive, Ill., a daughter of Louis and Wilhelmine (Thormann) Kanke. Of her marriage to Mr. Hemmann, on Oct. 27, 1908, two daughters and five sons survive. They are: Mrs. Rudolf Wichern of Uniontown, MissErna Hemmann of Cape Girardeau, the Rev. Louis Hemmann, Lutheran pastor at Sweet Springs, and Edwin, August, John and Ulysses Hemmann at home.
She also leaves her husband and two sisters, Mrs. E. H. Adams of Topeka, Kan., and Mrs. William Zschau of Dwight, Ill. Two sons, Albert and Rudolph, died in infancy.
Mrs. Hemmann was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of Grace Lutheran church at Uniontown.
