Louis served his vicarage at Bethany Lutheran Church and School located at Greens Creek in Lee County, Texas (near Giddings) from 1 Oct 1933 to April, 1934. During the week he taught Christian Day School and on Sunday he preached. This was all done in both the German and the English language. His pastor supervisor was Rev. Paul C. Eifert.
