Graduation: 8 May 1926 from eighth grade in Fiehler School District # 50, Perry County, Missouri. (The children in the Gottfried and Emma Hemmann family attended the Fiehler Public School (the one-room red brick school located at the eastern border of their farm) during those years when their was no parochial school teacher for them at Grace Lutheran School at Uniontown. Seminary at Concordia theological Seminary, Springfield, Illinois from 1931 to graduation 11 June, 1935. (H..A. Klein was president of the seminary during these years.) Louis served his vicarage at Bethany Lutheran Church and School located at Greens Creek in Lee County, Texas (near Giddings) from 1 Oct 1933 to April, 1934. During the week he taught Christian Day School and on Sunday he preached. This was all done in both the German and the English language. His pastor supervisor was Rev. Paul C. Eifert. Jobs: For a short time after graduation from the Seminary, Louis used Uncle Martin Lehmann's old Model A Ford to sell encyclopedias door-to-door. Then he worked in a whole-sale grocery warehouse in Houston. (He told me stories of seeing largeblack trantulla (sp.?) spiders when unpacking crates of bananas.)
